Admissions 2026–27 — Current Status

Admissions to undergraduate (FYUGP) and postgraduate programmes in affiliated colleges of the University of Kerala are conducted through the University’s centralised online admission portal. Allotment and vacancy positions change frequently — always check the official University portal and the college’s admission notices for the latest status.

Choose Your Programme

MMNSS College provides undergraduate education across the humanities, social sciences, commerce and sciences (BA, BCom and BSc programme areas), together with postgraduate study in Physics (MSc). MSc Physics

Postgraduate study in Physics enables students to deepen their understanding of physical principles, strengthen analytical and experimental skills and prepare for research, teaching, technical careers and further study. The sanctioned intake (indicatively 12) is reconfirmed for each admission cycle.

Understanding FYUGP

The University of Kerala’s Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) framework provides multiple completion pathways:

• Three-Year Undergraduate Degree — on completing the required credits and conditions, students may exit after three years with an undergraduate degree.
• Four-Year Undergraduate Honours — on completing the four-year programme and applicable credits, students may receive an honours degree.
• Four-Year Honours with Research — eligible students may pursue the Honours with Research pathway, subject to University regulations and institutional availability.

How to Apply — Undergraduate (FYUGP)

Applicants seeking admission to FYUGP programmes in affiliated colleges must register through the University of Kerala’s online admission system. Online registration is compulsory across categories, including merit, community, management and reservation.

1. Review the Prospectus — read the current University prospectus (eligibility, programme choices, reservation, seat categories, fees, allotment procedures and deadlines).
2. Explore Programmes & Colleges — review the programmes offered by MMNSS College and select only those you are prepared to join.
3. Register Online — provide accurate details, enter qualifying-examination marks, select programmes and colleges in genuine order of preference, complete the registration payment, and retain your application number.

How to Apply — Postgraduate (MSc Physics)

Admission to postgraduate programmes in affiliated arts and science colleges is conducted through the University of Kerala’s online centralised allotment process, based primarily on marks or grades in the qualifying degree, subject to eligibility, merit and reservation rules. Review the PG prospectus, register online before the closing date, select MSc Physics and MMNSS College, monitor allotments, and report for admission and document verification as instructed.

Admission Categories

• Merit Seats — filled through the University’s centralised allotment based on merit and reservation rules.
• Community Quota — applicable seats in aided colleges filled from eligible applicants of the educational agency’s community, per University procedures.
• Management Quota — applicable seats filled by the educational agency, subject to eligibility and governing regulations.
• Reservation Seats — provided for eligible categories under current University and government rules.

Eligibility

Eligibility differs by programme. For FYUGP, marks at the Plus Two or equivalent level form the basic criterion for most centrally allotted programmes; PG admission is based principally on qualifying-degree marks or grades. Applicants should verify the required qualifying examination, subjects, minimum marks, index-mark calculation and any category relaxation against the current University prospectus. Applicants from another Board or University may need eligibility, equivalency or migration certificates.

Documents Required

The precise requirements depend on the programme, Board, category and admission route. Applicants may be required to produce:

• Admission / allotment memo and completed online application
• Registration-fee and University-fee receipts
• Qualifying-examination mark list and pass certificate
• Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate
• Date-of-birth proof and an approved identity document
• Passport-size photographs
• Community / caste, Non-Creamy-Layer, EWS or income certificate (as applicable)
• Disability, sports, NCC or NSS certificate (as applicable)
• Eligibility / equivalency / migration certificate (for other Boards/Universities)
• Anti-ragging undertaking and any other documents specified in the prospectus
