Mannam Memorial N.S.S. College, Kottiyam was established in 1981 by the Nair Service Society and is named in memory of Bharata Kesari Mannathu Padmanabha Pillai, the founder of the NSS and a distinguished social reformer.

Sri Mannathu Padmanabhan recognised education as an essential means of individual empowerment and social progress. The college was founded to carry forward this vision—bringing quality higher education to the students of Kottiyam and the wider Kollam region.

Over four decades, the institution has grown into a respected centre of learning, developing its departments, expanding its academic programmes, and nurturing generations of students in an atmosphere of knowledge, discipline and service.

Today, MMNSS College continues that journey—preserving the values and social purpose that inspired its establishment, while responding to the opportunities and challenges of contemporary higher education.
